The northern foothills of Mount Fuji are referred to as the Gun'nao region within Yamanashi Prefecture, encompassing Fujiyoshida City, Nishikatsura Town, Tsuru City, Otsuki City, and Uenohara City. The Gun'nao region is known for its clear waters from the foothills of Mount Fuji and its abundant natural resources, making it a region thriving in sericulture since ancient times. Textiles produced here are called "Gun'nao textiles," a traditional craft with a history dating back over 1000 years. During the Edo period, it flourished as a top-tier textile industry, and its reputation spread nationwide. It is in Nishikatsura Town, a place steeped in the rich history of Gun'nao textiles, where this necktie is crafted.

Koshu Wine

The "Koshu" grape variety, an ancient
Japanese grape with a history dating
back approximately 1000 years. Grape
cultivation in Japan began near present
-day Koshu City in Yamanashi Prefecture,
initially focusing on the cultivation of
Koshu grapes, a variety originating from
Europe. Grape cultivation expanded
during the Kamakura period, and the
fame of Koshu grapes spread during the
Edo period. From these grapes steeped
in history comes "Koshu Wine." Crafted
from the grape residues generated
during its production process, the dye is
carefully extracted and used to dye silk,
resulting in the Gun'nao textile x Koshu Wine necktie.
With a citrus-like fragrance and a refreshing aftertaste,
reminiscent of Japan's grape heritage,
and a unique, vibrant hue, this tie perfectly
complements its wearer with a touch of Japanese elegance.

Reborn Products Blending In

This design is inspired by the particularly beautiful and petite "Fuji Sakura" blossoms that bloom at the foot of Mount Fuji. Fuji Sakura flowers bloom singly, exuding a delicate beauty that is captivating. Though not ostentatious, they possess a charmingly understated elegance, reminiscent of Japan's natural landscapes. In addition to classic regimental patterns, we have also prepared designs such as polka dots that easily blend into various coordinated styles.

※ The grape dye is only used in the patterned areas.

Since the Taisho era, we have been engaged in both sericulture and weaving, manufacturing fabrics for clothing linings, umbrella materials, and scarf fabrics. However, it was in Showa 40 (1965) that we began our current main business of necktie manufacturing. Since then, we have been delivering high-quality neckties to major apparel brands and renowned select shops. The reason we can supply our products to major apparel brands and renowned select shops is because we have the desire to deliver excellent products to our customers.
