This Jinbei is amazing. It's incredibly comfortable and versatile. The shorts are capri-length and can be worn solo with a t-shirt if desired. They even have a zipper as opposed to most drawstring style shorts which is very convenient. In spite of being drawstring waist they also have elastic so they fit comfortably and well all the time, even with a cell phone in your pocket.
The jacket / top piece is also incredibly well made. It has an internal tie and and external tie to hold it in place. Plenty of pockets.
Both pieces are amazing material and quality. Very cool and light for the warm weather but still have a nicely structured appearance.
Fit is likely a size up for US buyers (I normally wear a "Large" but bought XL and it fits great).
Every aspect of this shirt is spot on. The colors, fabric, shape etc. etc. One of the best shirts that I have ever owned.
This is one I just had to have - and it delivers on all levels: Lovely brushed Oxford cloth that‘s flannel-like cosy, a great a tiny bit more generous cut than the also lovely brushed twill popovers. The signature Kamakura Button Down collar that‘s just perfect PLUS a flap pocket on the chest, a detail that can turn a cool shirt into a must-have item for me. I love it! Another versatile new addition to my wardrobe that makes the fall and winter season look less grim.
Best fitting shirts I’ve been able to find, and I’ve tried a ton. Finally a shirt made for a guy whose gut isn’t bigger than his shoulders.
sleeve length I received measures a full 3 cm shorter than the listed on the size chart (and that’s before any home washing). On me, the cuffs sit far above the wrist bone, so I can’t wear it with a jacket or even roll the sleeves without looking awkward.
I double-checked my measurement technique (shoulder seam to end of cuff) against their own guide, so I’m confident it isn’t operator error. Chest, shoulders, and neck all match the chart perfectly; only the sleeves are off. Given the premium price (€150 after duties) and Kamakura’s reputation for precision, this discrepancy was disappointing.
Because the shirt is otherwise perfect—and I’d happily reorder if sizing were consistent—I’m hoping customer service can arrange an exchange for a unit that meets the published sleeve length, or process a refund if that isn’t possible, but I have not heard back from them

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback, we are sorry to hear that the sleeve length felt shorter than expected, and we understand how frustrating that can be, especially with an otherwise perfect fit.
To clarify, at Kamakura Shirts, we have consistently measured sleeve length from the center of the collar (at the back of the neck) to the end of the cuff. This method has been our standard for many years and is aligned with traditional American shirt sizing practices.
Our official size guide, including both illustration and video, demonstrates this measurement method clearly. If you referenced a size guide on our site that indicated measuring from the shoulder seam instead, could you kindly let us know where you saw that? We’d like to investigate and correct any potential confusion or misinformation.
